I’m Jackie Smith, the owner of Central Home Watch. As a Sarasota resident for nearly 40 years, I understand just how special this place is. From the beautiful pristine beaches, warm gulf waters, countless cultural and art focused activities along with a trendy modern downtown set against a stunning bayfront as the background, Sarasota has what most cities can only dream of.
In 2022 my husband and I made a big decision and invested in rental properties, with the goal to self-manage them. It was during this time that we began researching companies that could help take care of our properties when we were away. What we discovered was that most of these companies preferred to control all aspects of our rental business, some taking as much as 25% of the gross revenue while seeming less interested in helping us with our specific needs.
As we continued our research, we learned there were others with similar needs. Either owning and managing Short Term Rentals (STR’s), Long Term Rentals (LTR’s), owning a residential property in the Sarasota area while residing elsewhere for a portion of the year, or maybe living in the area full time but frequently traveling for work and/or fun.
Out of necessity and what we saw as expanding market demand, we took a bold step and made the decision to create Central Home Watch. We initially started out slow, servicing a small number of properties while we continued to refine and streamline our inspection process, core services and backend technologies. In late 2024, we decided it was the right time to offer our services to the larger Sarasota market.
We come from diverse professional backgrounds and are dedicated to fostering strong client relationships. We pride ourselves with meticulous attention to detail and a commitment to deliver a top-tier level of service, while utilizing best in class software technologies to manage the Home Watch inspection process.
